Messages From Spirit {August 5 to August 11}

Hey Buddhaful!  This is our first full week of August and it’s time to take a look at what’s happening in the spiritual undercurrent for the week!  I’m using another new deck this week, this one being the Indigo Angels oracle from Doreen Virtue and her son Charles Virtue.  It’s been some time since I’ve done an oracle deck review but I keep having mixed feelings about this one and it might elicit a review from me.  We shall see!  For now let’s see what’s going on this week.

The first card we have as the week starts is Self-Care.  This is so important and the angels are always trying to remind us of how much we need to pay attention to our level of self-care.  In our modern, busy world you have to admit that one of the last things we ever think of is ourselves and what we need to do to keep ourselves on top of our game.  This week you might be feeling like it’s time to really just stop, slow down, and put the focus on you first.

Sometimes self-care almost gets forced upon us.  We might get injured and having to take a few days off from our normal activities.  We might get laid off or put on leave at work for something and be forced to spend some downtime.  We might even find that we just get horribly sick and have no choice but to stay in bed and get some rest.  When you find yourself in a situation like this, where downtime has been put upon you without your intentional doing, you have to stop and look around you and ask yourself “What am I missing?  What am I neglecting?  What do I need to do for myself?”  This week will be a week to stop and ask those questions and make some changes.

Mid-week we see the card Stay.  This week the angels are staying “don’t run from your need to self-care and self-sooth”.  This week you need to stay in this mode of self-care and doing what need to be done for your highest good.  This isn’t a week to cover up how you’re feeling or rush off to get involved in something else as a way to avoid dealing with uncomfortable feelings or thoughts that might be surfacing.  Instead this is a week to confront things, find root causes to what’s got you down or has you feeling off, and working on making you priority #1!

Stay in those feelings and emotions.  Stay focused on you.  Stay in the uncomfortable place is that’s what motivates you to take action.  But don’t run away thinking things will be better “if only you did …{fill in the blank}.”

As the week winds down we see Think About It.  At this point in the week it will be time to really make plans to take action and change.  But you might be tempted to do the same things you’ve done in the past for similar self-care or self-healing situations.  This isn’t the first time you’ve felt this way, so you know that you’ve had specific courses of action that you’ve taken before that have worked to some degree. But don’t just jump into old patterns or old habits.  As yourself what you can do to do things better this time.  There’s always another thing you can try or another way to do something.  Don’t just take the easy road but also don’t take the “grass is greener” path.  Really take time to think about what would be better and ideal for you this go around.  Consider your options, weigh the possibilities, and get in touch with the core feelings you really want to have through this period of self-care.  How do you want to feel?

Summing it up…

This is a week for taking action toward change but only after really taking some time to look at what you need to do right now for YOU.  This is a week specifically focused on YOU and your needs.  There is nothing wrong with this!  A lot of people end up feeling guilty or selfish by taking time for themselves or putting themselves first, but you have to understand that when you don’t care for yourself it becomes impossible to truly care for anyone else.  You have to take care of you!

    Way late to finally reading this post but after a rough week & some questions about a situation from the week I knew I needed to check it out. After all it’s Saturday. Week isn’t technically over, right?

    “This isn’t a week to cover up how you’re feeling” & I didn’t but there was part of me that wondered if I should have just let it all slip & kept my mouth shut like I had been doing. So thank you. Despite the week being almost over I really needed that. You’re so awesome!
