It is always a little weird to me, in my witchy brain, when our traditional Thanksgiving comes along because spiritually and magickally I always feel like we did this at Mabon. But, who can’t use a double dose of gratitude or a double dose of delicious fall food!

As the hearth glows and the feast is prepared, let us give thanks for the abundance around us and the magick within.

“On this day of gratitude, I honor the Earth who gives so freely.
Blessed be the soil that grows the grain,
The rain that nourishes the fields,
And the fire that cooks our feast.
I thank the spirits of the harvest for their gifts,
And the ancestors who guide us with wisdom.
May this meal nourish our bodies,
May love nourish our hearts,
And may the magick of community warm our souls.
As the Wheel of the Year turns,
I give thanks and offer blessings to all.”

🙏🏻 My hiatus continues until the start of 2025, but I wanted to take a moment to stop and give thanks for all of you that are still here hanging in with me. I’m excited to spend December working on a 2025 return to the work I love most and rebuilding our little magickal community. 🔮

Where have I been? Doing this again! 📦🚚

I have a week and a half to pack it all up and get outta here! And I couldn’t be happier. While it was nice at first, this tiny apartment with no AC, no dishwasher, no laundry, and a ridiculously high rent just turned into a den of depression that caused my ADHD to worsen and knocked me even more off my path than I already was. The next chapter is going to be so much better. 😁🎉

Josh and I just had our three year anniversary last week and next week we’ll finally be living together. And we have a date set for our wedding next year. He’s been working away at moving stuff around at his place and getting things to either storage or Goodwill to make room for me. I’m putting a lot of my stuff in storage just to try and minimize for the time being. I’m looking forward to not being alone anymore…I have for sure learned I’m not good at that. And I’m really looking forward to seeing Josh every day and not just a few days a week. 💖

So in a few weeks…maybe in a month…once I feel settled again…I’ll be able to start putting time back into writing and doing witchy stuff. While I want so badly to go back to that full time, I’ve committed to a few things at my day job that will see me starting to prepare for a new, bigger position. I never wanted that job to be a career choice but for the sake of a paycheck it is what it is. But I don’t want to give up on what I love the most so we’ll see what happens. 🌈

🔮 Throwback 90s Witchery! 🔮

If you’re a youngin’ witch this might be total gibberish to you, but we for real used this kind of stuff in the office and at home back in the day. This is from Dorothy Morrison’s book “Everyday Magic” which was one of@my go to spell books in the late 90s. I haven’t had my copy in years but Josh found it at Goodwill and got it for me a little while ago. ❤️

It’s crazy to flip through it for a lot of reasons. The very dated spells and the way some spells were done that I would never do today (like invoking Oya, Thor, and Zeus in the same spell). I have been on a massive retro magick kick looking for anything witchy and 90s, so this was a huge blessing to get again. 🔮

If you picked card 2, Ribbons are a reminder of how deeply entwined we all are with the Universe, gods, and spirits around us who are listening to our intentional…and often unintentional…prayers and wishes and how we are getting the answers and the signs we need all the time. The problem is we don’t always see it and we don’t always accept or acknowledge this existing connection. Beltane is definitely a time of indulgence - it’s a time to really celebrate live and live it to the fullest (it is opposite Samhain, the season of death, after all). If you picked this card, it’s a message for you that you need to indulge in the things that make you feel loved, worth, blessed, and magickal. Indulgence doesn’t have to mean going overboard with things, but it can if that’s what your soul needs in that moment. But really it’s about honoring the self and your worth. And if you’re someone that often puts others first, this is a HUGE sign that you need to take some indulgent “me time” with no shame.
