Are you using your voice? Are you speaking your truth?
Many of us go through big chunks, maybe even our whole lives, not using our voice to its fullest extent. We hold in our thoughts and emotions, we don’t speak our truth, and as a result we often miss the mark on our life purpose because we never create the pathway for it to manifest for us.
Yes, I believe 100% that regardless of what your life purpose may be if you aren’t using your voice properly and to its fullest extent you aren’t going to line up with that path to purpose.
Don’t die with your music still in you.
~ Wayne Dyer
Your throat chakra is the energy center in right at the center of your throat which helps energetically regulate things like how strongly we speak, how truthful and in integrity our words are and how well we stand by our word.
When this center is out of balance we have a hard time asking for help and sharing our thoughts and emotions openly and easily with others. We’re not comfortable speaking in front of groups and we hold back or never express the things on minds and in our hearts. Having a low functioning or blocked throat chakra greatly impacts our sense of power, self-worth and self-confidence.

6 Ways To Find Your Voice
Believe In Yourself
This is easier said than done much of the time but it’s a key to finding our voice. When we believe in ourselves our voice is strongest. When we’re unsure of ourselves, even when we are speaking our truth and saying things that we believe in strongly. Belief in yourself means belief in your word and that’s where the core power in finding your voice comes from. To do this, literally speak with conviction knowing that your work is true and honest, knowing you’re speaking with knowledge and integrity.
Find Your Passion
If you’re really stuck on what to speak about with power and conviction, start with talking about your passions and your purpose. When you are able to talk to people about things that you love, you’re able to speak with power and believe in yourself with what you speak. But this isn’t just about what you love…what excites you? What gets you passionate? It could even be issues and causes in the world that get you angry or fired up. What makes you want to talk? What messages do you want to spread? Start there.
Speak Affirmations
This may sound like an easy one, but it’s about more than just saying an affirmation. This is speaking affirmations with belief and passion {see what I did there?!}…this is about picking affirmations that you really believe in and saying them, out loud, daily. These help you find your message, find your voice, and help you to create a sense of power and authority in your mind. You’re telling yourself “this is what I believe, and I believe it with strength and conviction”. Your affirmations should always be in “I am” statements so they are affirmative and spoken in a present-tense state. This isn’t about things you want to happen but things you know have happened already cosmically, you’re just still meeting up with the results.
Speak Truths Out Loud
Sometimes when we know the truth about a person or situation we’re afraid to talk about it because we don’t want to cause problems or we don’t want to make ourselves look badly. The reality is when we hold back the truth we block our throat chakra and our voice. And, even worse, lying blocks our throat chakra which makes it hard for us to express ourselves truthfully and honestly. This blockage has a big ripple effect too because as a result of either lying or holding back the through that we know we cause others to sense that we can’t be trusted. Speak truth, out loud to others, and you create more of your beautiful light to clear out the darkness trapped in a blocked throat chakra.
Get Artistic
You might not think that drawing, painting, journaling or playing music would deeply impact your throat chakra, but it does. These are simply other ways of getting that message in your heart out in a way that’s expressed in integrity. Sometimes you’ll find that one form of artistic expression connects better for you than another, and that’s fine. Pick the one that allows you to get out the things that you otherwise would hold in. This is one reason so many people love to keep a private journal. It gets the message out of your head and your body and onto a page so that you don’t have to carry it with you anymore, especially if that stuff is felt as a burden.
Be Present and Listen
The other side to all this voice stuff is actually shutting up and listening for a minute. Communication is a two way street. Talking just to talk isn’t helpful or healing and it doesn’t help you find your true voice. All that does is helps you find the annoying, nagging person within that nobody wants to talk to. Being present and listening to others helps so you can find where you fit in and where you don’t so you can form your own ideas with integrity. And we all know that when we listen we know better what to say, how to say it, and when to say it.
Finding your voice boils down to this:
Speak your heart and mind with confidence and the more you exercise the voice, the stronger it gets and the more in alignment with your true message you’ll get. You don’t have to know the big message you’re here to share to clear that throat chakra and find your voice. Let your voice lead the way.
