Recently I got a really great question in email from a blog and Facebook follower that I wanted to answer here because I’ve had this question come up before and I know there are other people with a similar curiosity. It has to do with the sometimes tricky subject of working magic as an extension of things you’re doing spiritually and mundanely to change a situation in your life. Let’s look at the question first and then these three tips I have for kicking things up a bit.
Hi Jess!
I’ve got a question about spells and magick, which I know you don’t teach much anymore but I know you have an answer to this question and I’d love if you could help me out.
I’ve been dealing with a lot of shit these days. My marriage is in the process of ending, my teenage son is getting ready to leave home for the first time for college at the end of the month, and I desperately need to find a new job. I’ve been working more with the things that you’ve been talking about over the last few months. Things like law of attraction, changing my view on things and my mindset, and overall being more positive. I’ve also been meditating a lot more and I have actually been surprised to find that it really has helped me with the stress! Thank you for your suggestions about that!
Overall I’m definitely feeling more upbeat and positive but I still don’t feel like I have any real change happening. I know change is happening but it’s not manifesting in the physical like I’d like. So I wanted to either do a spell or use some kind of magickal work along with all this other stuff. I know they go hand in hand, like you’ve mentioned before, so I’d love your thoughts on how to make this all work together so I can get what I want!
Thank you for your help! Blessed Be!
Victoria
Victoria’s question is awesome for one really big reason…alright, TWO big reasons.
First, she’s been paying attention to what I’ve been talking about lately. {insert Carlton dance here…}
But more importantly, she really gets the point of how these two things work hand in hand. Magic is great if you’ve got the clear mindset, the right intentions, and vision to back it up. There’s no point in going through the motions of working a money spell, for example, if you’re still sitting around thinking about how broke you are.
I have one very simple, key ingredient to recommend to anyone looking to do some magical work to boost the things they’re actually doing and taking action on in their lives, especially if it involves attracting things into your life. {Notice how important that is…you have to actually be making changes, not just wishing for things to fall in your lap.}
Honey
Yup, honey. Honey helps to sweeten people and energies to your favor but it also helps with making this move at a slower and more steady pace. Think of the phrases “slow like honey” and “like flies to honey”. Magic done with honey has great sticking, staying, and lasting power and it really draws things to your well.
There are three ways I like to use honey for magic and three things that I’d recommend to Victoria and anyone else seeking some magical attraction power to add to their existing actions in the everyday.
Dress Candles With Honey + Herbs
Use a candle in a color that corresponds to your needs, like red for energy or vitality, green for money, blue for healing, pink for love, and so on. Also pick 3 herbs that correspond to your needs and have them ground or crushed and mixed up ahead of time, laid out on a flat surface {a cutting board is ideal}.
Carefully wipe down the candle with a damp cloth to clean it physically and then hold the candle in your hands visualizing white light coming down through your head, through the crown chakra, down your arms and into the candle from your palm chakras. See the white light clearing away any unwanted energy. Put the candle down, shake your hands out, and pick it up again and this time hold the candle up to your heart center and state your intention out loud, pouring the intention from your heart into the candle. As you speak, do it in a way that your breath will flow over the candle.
Now comes the honey! Place a tablespoon or so of honey on the palm of the hand your write with {your power hand} and then gently dab the honey all over the candle while continuing to affirm your intention. Once the candle is covered roll the candle in the herbs so they stick to the side of the candle. Make sure to keep herbs away from the top of the candle and the wick so you don’t start a fire when you light it {herbs and burning candles can get a little tricky so be careful}.
When you’re ready to burn the candle place the it in a holder with a plate underneath to catch any falling wax or herbs. Light the candle and spend a little time focusing on your intentions. Create an affirmation for your intention and use this as a mantra as you light your candle. Let the candle burn out naturally, or if you need to, snuff it out and relight it later using your affirmation as you light the wick.
Honey Jars
This is a bit of a process, and it’s more than we have time to cover here, so I’ll go over the gist quickly here. You can read more about honey jars on the Luck Mojo website or you can check out an awesome book by Deacon Millet called Hoodoo Honey and Sugar Spells.
This process involves filling a small jar with honey, herbs, personal concerns, and a carefully and specially crafted petition paper, all brought together for a single purpose. They are all awakened and created with specific purpose and steps, which again are a little too involved for this post. Once the jar is constructed you burn a corresponding candle on top and the jar can then be used in a few different ways depending on the purpose and ingredients of the jar.
This is a picture of a honey jar I originally made in 2010 and have been using ever since.
The jars can be used for ongoing work, like this one, that you can use for years while
others might be used for specific things that will have a very specific end result.
When the result is achieved the jar is deconstructed in a specific way.
Flavored Honey
This is another simple thing you can do at home using specific herbs that correspond to your needs. Pick only herbs that are safe to eat {very important}! In a small baby food jar, or something similar, fill the jar about 3/4 of the way with honey and then add a 1/2 teaspoon each of 3 different herbs related to your intention. Before adding each herb to your honey hold it in your hand and carefully tap it three times and then blow on it telling it your intention {this reawakens the energy and spirit of the herb and lets it know what it needs to do for you}. GENTLY {because you can make a massive mess here} stir in the herbs into the honey. You can add more helpings of the herbs if you’d like but make sure that you add an even amount of each {for example if you decide to add an extra helping of nutmeg, make sure you also add an extra helping of the two other herbs you’re working with}.
Every day, until the jar is empty, eat teaspoon of this honey and herb mixture. You can eat it right from the jar or you can mix it in with tea. Before you eat it state your intentions through an affirmation you’ve created that corresponds to your purpose.
Remember that as you work with any of these magical techniques that you need to keep your everyday consciousness focused on positive, clear intentions all while taking action in your life.

Hi, i just did a money honey jar spell last night with a green candle on top and an orange besides it both burning at the same time. My question is, after the candle is done burning and the wax residues are left on the jar lid, do i remove The wax residues before i put another candle? So there aren’t any fire hazards
Jess Carlson says
Hi Tina!
You actually don’t want to remove the wax from the other candles you burn on top. As the candles burn down and the wax covers the jar it creates a sort of “magical cloak” around the jar. What you do want to do is place your jar on top of a plate or coaster that is larger than the jar itself so that you have something to collect the wax that might drip over and down the sides so it doesn’t burn or ruin the surface it’s on. Traditionally it’s not uncommon to find honey jars people have worked for years that are so covered in wax that you can’t see the jar anymore.
Vana says
I started a jar with red candles for the first 7 days, but ran out. Can I use pink candles on the same jar or alternate between red and pink every other day?
Jess Carlson says
It depends a bit on your intention for your jar. Is pink a vibration that works for what you want? Red is a different vibration with more intensity and more power than pink. Pink is going to be more gentle and a little slower to move. For instance if your jar is for love red is going to bring a lot of intense feelings and emotions, passion, sexual energy, and strong attraction. Pink on the other hand is going to be more emotional, more romantic, and will take effect over time. So if pink isn’t the right energy, order yourself some red candles stat. Also, you don’t need to burn a candle on the jar every day after the first 7 days. You can do it just once a week on an appropriate day that corresponds to your intention.
Erin says
I’ve started a honey jar for love, but used organic honey that doesn’t seem to be as fluid and I noticed that the packet is at the top, not completely covered. I used a very special personal concern of my intended that I don’t have another of and I’m not sure I could get another. I’ve been burning my candles every MWF since the Monday before Christmas.
Is the honey not covering the packet a problem? Should I restart the spell with a new jar and more fluid honey? Can I reuse the personal concern?
Thanks in advance!
Erin
Jess Carlson says
Hi Erin!
Honestly, I would leave it be. I’m going to wager that the packet floated up to the top and that it’s not that you didn’t have it covered initially. Keep working it and see how the results are coming along. Did you do the first 7 days of candles? Are you noticing any movement? If after a full month you’re not feeling there’s been any movement toward your goal, you can decide if you want to re-do the spell. Depending on what the personal concern is and the condition it’s in when you take the packet out, you could reuse it {or at least I would if I was just redoing the same spell}.
Erin says
My initial instructions didn’t include the for 7 days only MWF. 🙁
I haven’t really seen any movement yet, but I was going to give it a full lunar cycle before trying to re-do it. Now I’m wondering if I should re-do it because the initial instructions were clearly lacking after reading what I found on the site you recommended.
Jess Carlson says
Well it’s all up to you and how you feel about it. Since it’s already rolling along I would give it the full lunar cycle and see what happens. I also have an eBook on creating and working honey jars. You can find it in my shop under the eBook section. 🙂
Caroline says
I just did my 1st ever spell and it was a honey jar to make the boy I have a crush on want me with the possibility of love. I started the honey jar about 5 days and have seen no results. Should I have started to seen results already or is it still to early. I have also worked the jar every night since I started. Please help with guidance.
Jess Carlson says
First, 5 days is too soon to know if it’s going to have any effect. Secondly, there are a lot of reasons that you may not see results with this jar. Trying to make someone fall in love with you using magic always has a high chance of going nowhere. How close are you now? Is he in a relationship already? What kind of contact do you have with him on a regular basis? Other than magic what are you doing to try and develop something with him?
Caroline says
Thank you so much for answering so fast, unfortunately he holds all the cards, we communicate over the phone but don’t see each other as much as I would like. Can you recommend anything else. I know love is very hard and that is why my intention is for spending time, attraction, affection with the possibility of love. My husband passed away a few years ago and I recently started dating and forgot how hard and emontional it can be and don’t know if I have the strength I use to.
Jess Carlson says
Caroline, I’m so sorry for the loss of your husband. But I have to tell you, from reading your response here I can see and feel that magic right now is not the answer for you. Right now you need to do the healing on yourself, and even love magic on yourself, to bring you into a vibration where you CAN get out there and find love without anything in the way. So many people thing that when we’re sad, lonely, and lacking love from someone else that we need to go out and do magic to draw that love to us. But what we really need in those moments is to do work on ourselves to love ourselves and heal from the wounds we’ve suffered in our heart. The last thing you want to do is try to bring someone else into your world when you’re in a “less than” place emotionally and you can’t give yourself to them completely. If you’re looking for this man to love you as a way to heal and as a way to have love in your life again you’re going to find yourself fighting an uphill battle. Work on yourself first, and then you’ll find the RIGHT man to come into your life, even if it isn’t this man {who frankly feels like he isn’t right for you anyway}.

Hi Jess,
I just started my honey jar spell last week to get my ex love me more and come back to me. When I burn the candle on second day. I can see the result as he return my call which he never do that after we split up. But on last Sat, I think I have messy up something till he feel fed up on me. Do I need to re-do the honey jar or continue? As I don’t have any specif spell and I just simple make a wish to the honey jar is it ok? Please advise
Nelo says
I am interested in doing this honey jar to attract love. Never did any spells before but very much believe in law of attraction, manifesting, tarot, angel cards etc. I’m wary about the whole writing the other persons name on a piece of paper though, I don’t want anything negative to happen or backfire. Do you have any suggestions for what to write in terms of just attracting love within a certain period of time? I have someone that I met and I feel we had a strong connection but he disappeared out of no where, its been 6 months and I can’t stop thinking of him, but I would rather just use a generic ‘attract love’ statement and if we are meant to be then he should come back correct? I also consulted a vedic astrologer who has a very good reputation especially with marriage prediction, he said he saw marriage for me in 2019 and described the person, the description matched this person I met almost 90% except for job field. Of course anything to speed things along would be great. Appreciate your advice!

Hi- I just stumbled upon your page today. I actually had directions for my honey jar that I should light 3 green candles for 3 days only and no direction thereafter. And I wasn’t sure what to do with it after! I am seeing some results though. Blocks are clearing and I’m getting lots of sales on eBay during a dead time. Should I keep it going? Should I continue to light a green candle once per week? I also lit the candle in a candleholder and didn’t know the wax should cover it. Is this ok? Thanks in advance for your help!
Aleks says
My candle won’t stay on the jar because there is no flay surf face from the wax, should I still not remove it?
Harmony says
Hi Jess, I just discovered your awesome blog! Can one make a honey jar to help pass an exam?
Jess Carlson says
I wouldn’t use a honey jar for this unless the exam were going to be a while away. Honey jars work slow and aren’t meant for something that you need a quick result with or for something that’s going to be happening soon. I would actually use candle magick for something like help with passing exams.

Hi Jess,
I want to Thank you for writing this wonderful article. I started the honey jar spell to make my ex girlfriend listen to me, understand me, and know my true feelings (She’s been brainwashed and evil eyed), I started this almost a month ago (July last week). It would be great if you can correct me if I Have done anything wrong
– I followed the spell exactly as mentioned. However, the paper in the jar seems to float half way up and half way inside the honey – is this fine ?
– Also, can I use pink and red candles – both ? Because its not just for sexual intimacy but for understanding teach other and remove the misunderstanding
its been a month and I am not expecting quick results. But I do get some dreams about her when I light up the candle. I am doing this on MWF but I plan to do it everyday with pink and Red – somedays pink and some days red ? Please advise on this. Also if anything else I need to follow.
It would be great if you can guide me through.
Again, I really really appreciate your articles. Thank you for sharing your heart with us
– Vikki
Jess Carlson says
Hi Vikki…here are some thoughts.
The paper will float to the top but that’s fine.
With the candles, my personal way of working is that for 7 day periods I only use one candle color. If I want to shift energies and changing colors, I’ll pick a different color to use for the next 7 days. Keep in mind that colors carry different vibrations so the color you use matters and we want to build energy. Pink would be for that emotional love and emotional connection. In your case, since it seems the issue that you aren’t connecting and she isn’t listening to you, I wouldn’t use a strong, active, high vibe color like red. While red is a color of sexual love it’s also a color of aggression. I would work with pink for opening the heart and blue for communication.
With a honey jar you won’t see quick results. But you should definitely have results after three months.
Vikki says
Thank you so much for replying back Jess…I really appreciate it … Thank you for the humble advise about blue and pink candles ..that makes sense …I shall start doing that today onwards and as you mentioned 7 days a week which I shall do …it would be great if you can suggest something I can do more since I have lot of energy in me I believe …the more she treated me bad I more energy I developed..and the goal was to undated stand why she is behaving this way and make her alright …it would be great if you can suggest me anything apart from this ..I shall definetly so that…once again Thank you much..god bless

Hi Jess,
It’s nice to find someone willing to help others.
This is the spell/magick I have attempted.
I assembled the jar and burned the first candle. I was feeling really good about it. However, my pen lifted when writing my petition. Its hard for me to keep the pen down the whole time because I lift my pen frequently while writing a single word. I’ve since read the if you lift your pen, you need to start a new petition. Do you agree?
If so, can I disassembled the jar and use the same contents with a new petition? Or do I start from scratch. If this is the case, do I just throw away the contents of this jar or is there a specific way I should dispose of it? The content seems special and I’d hate to throw it I the trash….
I appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you.
DecemberStar says
Dawn, did you ever get an answer to your question? I have always buried my jar once the spell was completed. I would be curious to know if anyone said to reuse it…
Jess Carlson says
Thank you for chiming in! Your post brought to my attention that my original reply didn’t go through.
When you’re done with a spell and you no longer want to actively work the jar, yes, you can certainly bury it and leave it to rest. But Dawn’s issue was wanting to restart a jar and that’s another thing entirely. 🙂
Jess Carlson says
Hey Dawn,
I’m so sorry, it seems like there’s been an issue with comments and the comment I posted in reply to you never actually posted. YIKES!
When it comes to the petition I do feel like having the pen down the whole times makes a difference. Think about it like the pen is a wand and what you’re writing in ink is really being written in energy. If you lift the pen you break the flow of energy. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean a jar worked with a petition that wasn’t written in one stroke wont work…I mean let’s be real, it happens. It’s happened to me and the jar has still worked. In a lot of ways I think your thoughts and what you personally feel matters ends up playing into it. Once you start fretting about “oh crap, I lifted my pen, this petition is never going to work,” then guess what…it’s not going to work, but not because you lifted your pen, but because you’re telling yourself that it isn’t going to work.
If you want to redo the jar you can. If you have items in the jar that can be reused, like certain kinds of curios or crystals, you can take them out and physically clean them and then spiritually cleanse them with Florida Water. Anything else would need to be destroyed. If you want to basically negate this jar you’ll need to smash it and then dispose of the contents. For safety sake I do this by putting the jar inside an old towel and using a hammer to break it. I take out anything that I’m going to salvage and then wrap everything up with the towel and throw it out. Then you’ll start all over and use fresh herbs, your new petition, and new personal concerns. Then you’ll start the jar from the beginning.
This is how I personally do it, I’m sure you’ll find others with other methods. Hope that helps and I’m sorry my original post didn’t go through!

Hello
I have been working a honey jar for about two months now and the wax has completely covered the plate not to mention the jar. I light a candle every MWF but my honey jar is getting so big I am having a hard time finding a place to keep it. Is it possible to remove some of the wax or will this affect the work. The plate has so much wax that I know have it in a low rimmed bowl but even that is getting filled.
Jess Carlson says
Hi Agnes,
You can remove the wax if you wish. Safety is always important and if the wax buildup is making it hard to safely burn more candles you should chip away whatever needs to be removed to make room for new candles. I have several jars that I’ve worked for a year or more and will regularly clear the wax away. Simply remove the wax and bury it on your property or close by {this helps to keep the attraction energy around you}. What I personally do, because I live in the city and burying things is often difficult, is I add it to a spell remnants jar that I keep through the year. Every time I work a spell or ritual where there are left over bits of wax, incense, or herbs I add it to a large jar and keep it tucked away in my magick closet all year. At Samhain I burn the contents in a New Year Releasing Fire. So this is another option if burying isn’t something you can.
Hope that helps!
Agnes says
what a great idea! I live in NYC so this idea of burning down the wax is great. Thank you!!!

Just bury the wax in your yard. Then keep using jar.

Hi i love your blog and this particular article. I have been wanting to make a honey jar but unsure of what herbs to put. Or what kind of oil to use. I dont think there is any shop that i could go to to buy these from where i am located. I intend to use this foe my ex. We broke up but we still live together although we dont talk that much anymore.
Jess Carlson says
It all depends on what you want the intention of your jar to be. Are you looking to simply make your living situation more comfortable so you can be friends and get along living together or are you looking to reconcile your relationship?
Hailey says
Hi Jess, I want us to get back together. I managed to make my honey jar and put in with my petition, rose buds, catnip and cinnamon along with our hair. I use red candle . Is this ok? Therirst time i burned the candle it dint leave any wax residue. I thought i may have bought a dripless candle. But the second one left a heart shape wax puddle beside the bottle. What does this mean? the following candles all burned clean
Hailey says
Hi Jess thanks for your reply. Me and my partner are back together. After months of trying to work things out and working on the honey jar, my partner has finally said that we should start over. I worked on the jar for almost three months, and ofcourse tried to make it up with him, it wasnt easy and I was already willing to give it up, a week ago I told him I decided I am going to move out and just focus on my self. it wast easy living together after you broke up especially if he doesnt want to commit anymore but things just suddenly turned around and he was the one wanting to start over. although we had gotten back i decided its best I move out and live somewhere else for now and see each other once in a while. I think I still need some time to heal. I will continue with the honey jar.. but soon I will dispose it. how can I properly dispose the it?
CL says
I have just did a honey jar spell with the name of the person, my intentions, dragons blood, added another name to it, and have just replaced the lid and put back into the closet. What are the odds of this actually working?
Jess Carlson says
The odds of that jar working is pretty slim to none because one a jar is created it should never be opened and have things added to it. This new name you added isn’t on your original petition that you created. You also would have needed to add personal concerns from that person as well. Any time you have to add something to a jar that you’ve already started you should create a whole new jar that encompasses everything and everyone that you want to be part of your magick.
GeminiGal says
Hi Jess,
Love your site! I am getting ready to do a honey jar to attract my ex. We are in an awkward broken up but not broken up state and in a long distance relationship. I am thinking of doing it with pink candles to reinstate the romance and love that we experienced so strongly until a month ago when he decided he wanted to end things for reasons that were so trivial and all based on misunderstandings but in his mind they were big issues and had we talked through them I know we could have gotten past them. But things are still very awkward and we have yet to speak about our issues and instead we are more on a friendship level. What herbs and anointing oil would you recommend? I have jasmine, peppermint, olive and coconut oils at home – Can I use one of these or would you recommend Ii get something else? Also what herbs? I have the following at home…Vanilla, saffron, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves…I also have dried thyme, rosemary are these good or should i get fresh herbs and fresh rose petals? Anything else you would recommend I include in the jar?
Jess Carlson says
Let me start by saying that if I were in your position {and I have been} I wouldn’t be running out to do a honey jar first. The first thing I would do if I were going to use magick would be to work magick to open up communication and resolve the issues that ended the relationship first. If you try to just hop over that like it never happened and work to draw him back to you, you’re not just going to draw him back but you’ll also draw back the problem, even if you’re focusing on rekindling the relationship the way it was at its best. The fact of the matter is it’s not the same and things have changed. I would deal with the issue that broke you up before trying to get back together.
Having said that, for a honey jar to draw someone back to you I would use pink candles on the jar. The herbs can get a little tricky because it depends on what you’re really looking for the jar to do. If you want to simply get him back close to you so you can move out of the friend zone and back into a relationship I would use herbs like catnip, rose buds or rose petals, Balm of Gilead, a piece of Queen Elizabeth Root, and a pair of lodestones with magnetic sand. Out of the herbs that you mentioned you could use vanilla, though I would hold off on using that until after you have him back. But out of the ones that you have you could use cinnamon and saffron for your jar. All the others are more idea for other kinds of work like protection, prosperity, and psychic power. But you want to focus on drawing him back first and foremost. Catnip, to me, is an absolute must regardless of anything you use.

Good morning! I have been reading up on honey jar spell over a month now and decided to try it.. I added the honey first with a paper of my intention on it, I went back s few days and added sugar with another piece of paper with intention and burned pink jar candle on it. I went back and added his finger nails and another intention and burned white candle… for some reason I feel like I’m doing it totally wrong 😩… my boyfriend of 8 months got me pregnant and forcing me to do an abortion plus he’s still with his ex his excuse is that he’s using her for money.. I want him to marry me and change his mind about this abortion sometimes my head is all over the place and when lighting my candle I don’t seem to be focused… my question is can I continue with the same honey jar with the help from you how to go about it correctly if I’m not or do I dispose. Of it and start a new one..
P.s I don’t have a yard so I can’t bury my left over if I should
Jess Carlson says
Hi Kat,
Yeah, unfortunately that was totally wrong. 🙂 A honey jar, like just about all container spells, are done at once. As soon as it’s sealed the spell is done and now active. Every time you open that jar you’re breaking the seal of the magick. Now, there are versions of honey jars where you can open the jar, however the actual spell part…the adding of the herbs, petitions, and so on…are all done at one time. But for what you’re trying to do, you need to do this all at once. There are also specific ways to make the petition, how to fold it, how to construct the jar, etc. You could Google around how to make one but I also have a self-study course on honey jars which comes in an ebook format that you can find in my Shop.
With what you have now I would dispose of the jar and start a whole new one. You wouldn’t bury this because the whole thing is inactive and you want to break up anything that may be going on since you’re going to start over. Take out the things you’ve put inside {personal concerns, petitions, any roots or stones, etc} and rinse the honey out of the jar. Anything you had in the jar, other than stones or crystals if you used them, will need to be tossed out and you’ll need to start fresh all over again. The jar itself can be washed, dried, cleansed, and reused. Or if you want to start totally fresh you can recycle the jar and use a new one.
Good luck!
P.S. I would actually do a skull candle spell to get him to change his mind about the abortion…and a separation spell to get him to leave his ex…and THEN I would do a honey jar for the relationship with him. If you’re trying to get him when he’s still with someone else, regardless of the reason he’s telling you, you’re fighting and uphill battle. Or worst case scenario you’re going to end up with him AND her closely connected to you. And, honey, if he’s with his ex for any reason he’s not TRULY you’re boyfriend. You got a lot of other work to do first before using magick to hold on to him.
Kat says
Thanks a lot for the advise.. can you give me an example on how to use the skull candle spell and the color I should use ,also how to do a separation spell

What color of Candle can I use to attract a position full time at a hospital I want to work in? I met with the interviewer but it was a part time… then the full times opened but they had to look into their own staffing first before offering it to me. I have the names of the two ladies that would interview & hire. I do work for the hospital but on a different site. I like to work in the main hospital. I like to start a jar with their names so they actually think about me enough to call me back and offer me the job once an opening becomes available and I will make sure I stay on top with applying as well. Can you advice me if this is possible so that I can begin and give it time to manifest. I need instructions. Thank you.
Jess Carlson says
Hi Liz,
For career related things you can use yellow, gold, or orange for that “bright and shining” attraction to get them to look at you and be attracted to you for that position. You can also use purple which is a color for mastery as well as success. Purple can be idea if you want to be seem as the most highly skilled for the job. What I would actually do is burn a purple candle on the top of the jar but then burn yellow candles, one one each side of the candle as well. This way your jar is basically flanked with that brightening and illuminating energy.

Hi Jess so my boyfriend is currently in jail and will be heard for an appeal this upcoming February, not only do I want the appeal to work in his favor but I just want him to be released all together or maybe have the charges dropped. Perhaps when it comes time for trial basically I want him to have the smallest to no sentence.. The investigation is still on going, what color candle , and what sorts of herbs would you recommend for this issue?

Can you do this for getting into a college??
Jess Carlson says
Hi Angel,
This isn’t really something I would do for getting into college. Honey magick can move very slow and I would guess you’re looking to get this college thing taken care of sooner rather than later. For your situation I would actually recommend candle magick.

Is there any bad consequences of honey jar? I mean I did it to bring love to me from my husband. It’s happening because my husband met with an accident and he need me. But that’s not what I wanted. He is at home because of ill health. Could you please guide. Should I throw the honey jar.

Unfortunately this is what can happen sometimes when we work magick. Things like this happen for two main reasons. The first is the fact that magick and the Universe work through the path of least resistance. It’s likely that the easiest way for your husband to need you more and to express more love and gratitude for you was for something like this to happen where he would have to depend on you. The other cause of things like this is often a lack of clarity in our work and intention. The same kind of thing can happen when someone does a spell for money. They say they want $10,000 but they don’t frame it in anyway and instead say they’ll take the money in any way that it can come…and then a relative dies and they get their money through an inheritance. Or someone does a spell to lose 20lbs but again isn’t clear that they want it to be in a safe way through diet or healthy habits and they end up in an accident and need to have their legs amputated. These might seem extreme but they are examples of what people have had happen when they aren’t clear with their work.
As far as getting rid of the jar, you could certainly do that but it isn’t going to suddenly make your husband well. Depending on how long you’ve worked the jar for and how much energy had gone into the work you may simply find that his need of you and his affection of you starts to wane “back to normal”…or it’s entirely possible nothing changes. It’s really up to you. Even though it might seem like it didn’t work, it sounds like it did, just not how it was expected.
