For the last few days, since Dr. Wayne Dyer passed away over the weekend, I’ve been trying to think of what I wanted to say and how I wanted to share my own marking of his journey back to Source.
I could talk about the first time I saw him in PBS in the early 90s.
I could tell you all about my favorite books of his that I go back to over and over.
I could talk about how the first time I watched “The Shift” I cried and cried because of all the AH-HA moments it gave me. It’s no exaggeration to say this movie changed my life.
The honest truth is that, while I was well aware of Wayne Dyer’s work and had dipped my toes in the beautiful pool of energy he created and shared off and on for years, it wasn’t until 2012 that I dove in headfirst.
I was feeling a change in my spiritual path and the work I wanted to do in the world and I found listening to his lectures, reading his books, and applying more and more of his concepts in my own personal life reawakened me to some of the big life changing lessons that I’d experienced but forgotten since I had my first major shift in the early 2000s when I stopped using drugs.
Change your thoughts, change your life.
Choose another thought and change the course of your life.
What you are is what you get regardless of what it is that you way you want.
Your intention is everything.
These were a couple of the key concepts that just kept ringing around in my head that guided me to where I am now and off more than one self-destructive path I had created for myself.
While I’m sad he’s gone…and gone far too soon…I know that he was fine with coming into transition. This is why the only tears I’ve shed over his passing were because of the initial shock. I know the last thing he would want to see is a see of people crying and mourning his loss because he wouldn’t see himself as gone. He wouldn’t want to hear “goodbye” but rather “I’ll see you soon.”
While I’ll miss his humor and his amazing insights I know that I’ll always be able to revisit those books, the DVDs and the lectures any time…which I plan to do for the rest of my life.
I wanted to share a clip with you from when Dr. Dyer was on Super Soul Sunday with Oprah a few years ago, a clip that I love where he talks about some of the ways that we screw up manifesting.
Come Watch The Shift!
In honor of his passing, Hay House is making Wayne Dyer’s amazing and life changing film The Shift available to watch for free online for the next 6 days. Come here to watch it. If you haven’t seen it, trust me, you should. Eliminate all distractions for two hours, sit back and watch.
