You are a powerful healing. There, I said it! It’s true that deep within you you have tremendous healing power in your own hands, mind and spirit, but unfortunately you haven’t had this fact reinforced for you over your lifetime and likely see yourself as quite the opposite. You may see yourself as someone who is sick, weak, even broken. I want to tell you that, first and foremost, none of those things are true. You have the power within you to heal whatever needs healing with simple intention, focus, and touch.
Before we go anywhere else with this, I just want you to understand that there is a big difference between healing and curing. We have a tendency to confuse the two and see them as being on in they same but they truly aren’t.
Healing happens at the soul level, within our energy body. Healing happens when our energy gets more clear and becomes more aligned to allow treatments on the physical level to do what they need to do. Sometimes we think healing isn’t happening because we don’t feel better physically, but sometimes the thing that our energy and our soul needs is something different. For some people the best and most needed form or healing is a prolonged illness in order to gain a new perspective on things and to experience downtime. For other people it may be that it is their time to cross the veil so their soul is healed by the release from the body.
Curing is what happens on the physical level when we work to rectify a symptom of an illness. I’m sure most of us have experienced something being cured but healing not having truly taken place. This is what happens when we deal with an illness, are apparently cured from its symptoms, but nothing changes on a deeper level for us and soon we find ourselves either sick with the same thing or something similar soon enough.
Here we’re talking about healing, not curing. And as an aside I just want to be clear that I highly recommend working with both energetic and alternative medicine while seeking traditional treatments for whatever has you ill. This is what holistic healing is all about – addressing the whole not just the part.
Think back to when you were a child and you hurt yourself. The first thing you did was touch whatever area was in pain. If you cut your finger in instantly went into your mouth. If you banged your kneed on something you put your hands over it to rub and soothe it. If you tummy hurt you rubbed it, placed your hands on it, or asked someone else to do it for you. As a child that was your powerful healer at work because she was told that this didn’t do anything.
Chances are though that you still do some of these things today but don’t see them as anything more than reflex. You may not even realize you do it, but you likely do. We’re going to go back to that powerful child healer within by shifting a few things as you do these reflexes in the future.
I can honestly say a day doesn’t go by where I don’t do this and it always helps me get what I need when I need it. And you don’t need to be in a special place or do any big rituals to do it. It’s simple and filled with love and intention.
- When you get hurt place your hand{s} on the area in pain. When you do this imagine that your hands are full of warm sunlight – white with a touch of golden yellow that soothes and illuminates.
- Close your eyes and just feel the pain. Don’t try to block it out or ignore it. Sit with it and allow yourself to be in pain and be uncomfortable. What does this discomfort and disease have to say to you? Listen to your intuition and listen to what your body is telling you.
- Once you feel you’ve gained anything you needed to gain from this simply send the area that’s in pain some love. This is the most important part – yes you’re in pain and uncomfortable, and possibly mad at yourself or your body, but you need to let your body know you’re OK and you love it. You can talk to your body as you hold it with this golden white light by saying “Yes, I know that this pain in my stomach is here for a reason and it’s giving me something I need right now even though it’s uncomfortable, but I love you. I love you for all you do for me, but I ask that you make way to allow healing to take place.”
Seems simple, but when you have the simple approach that you had with this when you were a child and you truly believe that healing is happening by being gentle and loving with your body when it’s in pain you’ll be amazed at what can happen by just placing your hands there and letting the healing flow.
