Happy July everyone!
I decided that along with the tarotscopes each month I would also do a super quick bullet point list of some things I’m doing or have coming up for the month to just give you an idea of what to keep an eye for.
- Devin and I are going to be back with new episodes of The Modern Witch Podcast. And we’re working away on a bunch of other MW things right now too that will start rolling out late in July.
- Later this month I’ll FINALLY be able to start my new livestreaming schedule on Twitch! I’ll have a post/newsletter specifically about that when it’s ready to go.
- I’m going to be announcing the final plans for the revamp of Intuitive Badass. It will be turning onto the Intuitive Badass Academy which will be joined by the Badass Witch Academy a little later. At the end of July I’ll be closing down the current version of Intuitive Badass so if you’re interested in it, now is the time to get it.
- New ebooks, mini-planners, and workbooks are stacking up and ready to go soon!
- Lots of new stuff including art, printables, and readings will be showing up in my Etsy shop.

This month’s group topic is authenticity. Every month I create some digital art for a wallpaper and social media posts and a PDF of affirmations and reflection questions and then we talk about the topic about once a week. Be careful that you don’t let the challenges of the month of July cause you to get “underwater” and overly emotional. It might end up being easy to lose track of what matters and let the worries and fears of the future drag you down a bit. This will be a month where you’ll need to be extra mindful of things that might be considered emotional “triggers” for you, especially if they tend to lead to some sort of self-destructive or self-sabotaging behaviors. Allow yourself to feel all the feelings and not numb or drown them out. There is a lot to learn there if you allow yourself to ride the waves.

July feels for you like a month where ideas and creative plans fall flat at every turn and you can’t pinpoint exactly why. You find yourself trying anything and everything you can to get some positive attention and feedback on things you’ve been working on but nobody seems to notice. Be careful that you don’t allow yourself to be too easily influenced by others just for the sake of getting a little bit of an ego boost with some half-hearted praise from someone else. You’re not feeling the flow right now because you need to take a little downtime to let things ruminate in your head a bit. This may be more a month of inner work than outer work…so just embrace this ebb in your cycle and don’t force yourself to do things that don’t really ring true for you.
The Lady & The Lord (aka The Lovers)
This month you’ll find that you are really driven to find the truth when it comes to the partnerships and friends you associate with. People that you keep in your life and who mean something to you may not always be honest and upfront about their motives or actions. But you love them so you often let a few of these people slide even when your senses are telling you something isn’t 100% on point. This doesn’t have to lead to nasty confrontations or parting ways, but you deserve to know the truth…it’s what makes the relationships stronger. So if you feel you have to ask someone questions to get clarity on something and you’ve been holding back, July is the month to have those conversations. Do it from a place of love and all will go as it should (even if it’s not how you might want or expect).
Nature (aka The Devil)
Keep an eye out this month, Cancer friends! You may find that the temptations of the sunny days and long warm nights of summer create the perfect trap for you to walk into without even realizing it. Sometimes the most attractive flowers and fruits can be the most poisonous and the glittering faery ring may look fun but can prove to be deadly. Someone could possibly be setting a trap for you…or it’s possible that you’re trapping yourself with some self-sabotage. Either way, it’s a month for being extra careful to mind your intuition, to think and feel before acting, and for trusting your gut.
Knight of Pentacles
New opportunities for success, abundance…and what you crave most, recognition…are on the horizon during the month of July. This is going to be particularly the case when it comes to career. If you’ve been feeling like you’re underappreciated at your current job, now is the time to start working on paving a path ahead to help you find a job that is going to be more satisfying overall. It’s not just about a paycheck…though that will benefit from this too. But this is about you feeling you’re being seen, being heard, being taken seriously…that your skills aren’t going to waste. It’s ok to get on your “high horse” when you know you’re amazing at something. Don’t downplay your power, that only helps you to eventually lose it (use it or lose it, baby).
Knight of Chalices
Expect that July turns into a mega-social period for you. Rituals, gatherings, festivals, family parties, dinners with friends…lots of invitations for you to come and be part of the “family”…just be sure to bring the wine! This is going to be a month where you’ll definitely need to make some decisions too about where you go and who you spend your time with. While you might want to hit three parties in one weekend, you might be better off going to two and taking a raincheck on the third. This could easily become a month where you end up running yourself down. Between all the going on, all the food and drink, and a lack of downtime, all that social fun could make for a rough August. So during July, enjoy all these invites and chances to reconnect with friends and family, but don’t forget to take care of yourself too.
King of Athames Reversed
Normally you’re a smart, rational, “think before you act” kind of soul. But some unexpected news early in the month of July could have you finding that cool, calm, and collected mentality flipped a bit and you might be a little too quick to react to something…specifically, you may say something that you regret later and can’t really take back. Even worse, you may find that this thing wasn’t just something you said but something you put in writing…on the internet…where nothing ever goes away. You know better, you’ve been down this road before. In fact, you may find that the very situation itself isn’t new to you and you get baited into reacting in a negative way, similar to how you’ve reacted before. Be sure to pay attention to when you feel the urge to do or say something out of an emotional place of reaction. Whatever it is, think it over first or you could regret it later.
Five of Athames
During the month of July, when you have some decisions to make that could have a long term effect on your future, you could find that you are a feeling a bit unsure of what to do and you need to turn to someone for help. This is fine, always reach out to someone when you feel you need support…but don’t feel like you have to go along with what they tell you to do or say just because you asked for help and they gave their advice. Asking for help shouldn’t mean you’re giving up your sense of responsibility. Don’t undervalue your own thoughts just because someone “more experienced” shared their ideas too. At the end of the day, the decision of what to do will still be yours.

We all know that dreams and goals and plans cost money, but sometimes that dream isn’t something we can make happen today…right now. Sometimes we have to wait, save up, and give things time to come together in their own way. July might come along with a lot of opportunities for you to do things, go places, and experience things that have long been on your “want to do” list but you may realize that you don’t necessarily have the funds to buy the ticket and take the ride. But don’t show up at the bus station with your bags packed and start rustling up loose change from strangers so you can go. Opportunities may come along this month but if you have to beg, borrow, and steal to get the money to make them happen, then they aren’t worth it. If it is meant for you, it will find you again later. Don’t go in debt for a lifetime over something that will bring a moment of immediate joy.
Six of Pentacles
There’s a lot of little ways that you can help those around you right now, little things that you might see as being insignificant but that to those who you can offer them to may mean the world. It might not seem like a big deal to share some of the flowers you cut from the bushes in your yard with your neighbor, but they may be going through a really rough time and those flowers could really brighten their day. Your co-worker that seems to always be in a bad mood and never leaves their desk or office for lunch of a break might really feel the love if you surprised them with a coffee one afternoon. The smallest of gestures can change someone’s day dramatically and that, in turn, could change their world. So when you see someone that could use a little love and you have something extra to give this month, do it without expectations or strings. Just know you’re putting some good out into a world that really needs it.
Harvest (aka Judgement)
When we come to a point where the harvest is ready to be taken in, we’re not just taking up the things that we have grown but we’re making room for rebirth and renewal. During a harvest season, the land is cared for while crops are being reaped because how the ground is left will determine how the next round of planting will go. In our lives, when the time comes for us to reap rewards from our efforts, we need to be mindful of how this will also pave the way for our next season of planting seeds. This month you will find that you’re ready to close the books on some plans and projects, but as you do think about how they can help you going forward in your next phase. Let the harvest give way to great plans for the next cycle.
The Greenman Reverse (aka The Fool)
Sometimes we get so excited about something, especially something new that comes into our lives, that we can not only make some bad choices but we can really overdo it in the excitement department. There may be something new coming up for you, something that could be really big and provide some important changes that could be far-reaching in the months to come. And while it’s fine to be excited, you don’t want to get your hopes up too much or let your ideas run away from you to the point where you set up a false expectation of what’s to come. That will only lead to being let down later and you could very well end up feeling like a fool for having thought all these things were even possible. Keep your expectations measured, stay rational, and most of all, listen to your friends and family. If they tell you you’re getting a little ahead of yourself, listen. They have a whole different perspective on things than you and right now it could be invaluable.
