Tonight while doing the drudgery of paying bills I decided to listen to some music that I haven’t listened to in some time. Two of those things were “The Golden Section” by Michelle Mays and “Crossroads” by Jenna Greene. These two used to be on constant rotation at home for me but since moving in February my CDs with just MP3s on them have gotten all sorts of discombobulated and I just got these two back up on my laptop today. So I wanted to share a few things with you all, especially if you haven’t ever had the occasion to see/hear them before.
The first is Jenna Greene performing “Soul of Nature” live in May of this year. This song is The Charge of the Goddess set to music and it’s stunning. She has a beautiful voice and does a great job of making this truly moving in music form.
The next, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find performed live, which I would have loved, but here is Michelle Mays doing a long called “Sometimes I Wonder”. This song is one that has always said something to me that has connected deeply and when I hear it always seems like a reminder that comes at a perfect time. Michelle has a beautiful voice as well and I can’t help but always want to sing along with her music!
And lastly I had to round things out with my FAVORITE Pagan singer, Kellianna. Again, couldn’t find this performed live anywhere but if you look on YouTube you’ll find Kellianna performing a few songs live which are lovely but this is one of my favorites and it’s one that I often catch myself singing at random.
And that’s the music I’m listening to today! 🙂
I also gave in and got an account with LastFM…because that was something I really didn’t need but I thought what the hell, it’s more music and I never say no to music. I have a little icon in my social networking bar to see my account and see what I’m listening to. Right now it’s all Pagan but you’ll never, there could easily be some Skinny Puppy or Crazy Town in there one of these days. 😉
Mood: sing-songy
