The world has lost another great Pagan leader as we are slowly hearing the news of the passing of Marion Weinstein, Witch, author, comedian and priestess. Little news seems to be available about what led to her death, however it’s being reported that she passed on July 1, 2009. Marion was 70.

Many people know of Marion Weinstein bets from her books “Positive Magic” and “Earth Magic“. Years ago while in NYC, poking around at Enchantments, I found a copy of Marion’s “The Ancient Moder Witch“, a transcript of a lecture that she gave on Halloween in 1990, a piece that I feel makes for critical reading for those that are trying to bridge the gap between old and new faces of the Craft. Without a doubt Marion Weinstein’s body of work, most of which is more readily available on her own website, gives quite the vast amount of classic and critical reading for those on the path of Witchcraft.

A public memorial service will be held for Marion at the NYC Pagan Pride Day event on Saturday, September 26 at Battery Park in the city.
