Mercury Retrograde is on the way! You know what that means? Chances for the crazy and unexpected when it comes to travel, technology, and communication.
In the last year I’ve put together a few pretty awesome {if I do say so myself} resources on Mercury Retrograde. I wanted to pull them all together here for you as a quick reference.
And, as almost always is the case when Mercury Retrograde comes, I have another resource to add to the list. This time, it’s a Mercury Retrograde Buster Oil/Mist recipe!
Mercury Retrograde Buster Oil + Mister
The oil can be worn as a magical perfume, used to anoint your home, car, and workspace, dabbed on your phone and laptop on the edges or used in any number of ways your little magical mind might think of. The oil can also be used to create a mister bottle which you can use to cast a fine magical mist around your body or space to help you get through this retrograde with ease.
You’ll Need:
- Benzoin essential oil
- Bergamot essential oil
- Verbena essential oil
- Lemongrass essential oil
- Carrier oil {sweet almond, jojoba, sunflower, etc}
- Oil bottle {if you’re making an oil blend}
- Mister Bottle {for the mister}
- Distilled Water {for the mister}
Each of these oils carries an energy that can help us during Mercury Retrograde:
Benzoin provides protection and helps you with remaining spiritual clear.
Bergamot increases your personal power and strength.
Verbena clears away negative energy and casts off any “evil” on you.
Lemongrass is a Mercury herb that brings luck while warding off negative energies.
To make the oil: blend you’ll want to use equal parts of each of the oils. What size your “part” is will depend on how much oil you’re looking to make. When I make a 2 dram bottle I start with a 1/4 teaspoon of each. If you wish to add more of one oil for the sake of getting a scent you like, you can; you just want to start with an equal base of all the oils.
Once you get a scent you like, fill the rest of the oil bottle with your carrier oil. Give it a good shake before using. I like to then place this oil in a sunny window for a few hours to help heat and blend the oils together before using.
To make the mister: add equal amounts of the four essential oils to your mister bottle. For this you’ll want to use a larger “part”. For misters, I start with a teaspoon of each. When you get a scent you like fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Again, shake before using.
The mister will not have a terribly strong, long-lasting scent. Don’t overdo it with the oils because you’ll end up with everyone around where you spray covered in a sticky, oily mess.
