5 Simple Gem Elixirs For An Awesome Weekend!

Gem elixirs are one of my favorite ways to work with crystals.  A gem elixir is simply water that has been infused with the essence and energy of a particular crystal.  You can do single stones or groups of stones for a specific purpose.  There are also different ways to do elixirs.  You can create batches of elixir water or you can do this very simple method that I’m going to share with you here where all you have to do is put your stone that you’re going to use in your water and drink up!  Easy peasy but super powerful and supportive!

So before we get into this list of elixirs that can specifically support an awesome weekend, there are a few Pro Tips to take into consideration.

  • elixirglassAlways use filtered or purified bottled water, never tap water.
  • Make sure your crystals is properly cleansed and tuned before using.
  • Never use raw stones – always use tumbled, polished “pocket stones”.  Raw stones can dissolve or chip and you’ll end up swallowing pieces of your stone and that’s not good.
  • It kind of goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway – don’t swallow your stone and don’t use a stone that is so small that you might swallow it.
  • Make sure that you only use stones that are non-toxic.  Many of your favorite crystals and gemstones contain minerals that are actually toxic and dangerous to drink.  Stones like lapis lazuli, malachite, lepidolite, and moonstone are among dozens of stones that have toxic elements like copper and aluminum.  You can find a pretty decent list of toxic stones here, but you can also look at the mineral composition of your stones and see if any of the components are toxic.  The stones I’ll share here in these recipes are all safe.
  • And of course you want to make sure your stones have a Mohs Hardness of 7 or more before putting them in water. You can always use the indirect elixir making method for softer stones.
  • If you want to get an extra boost, drink your water with your stone in it from a reusable drinking bottle that is made in a color that corresponds energetically with what you’re trying to resonate with.  You can simply match the color of the bottle to the color of the stone you’re using.

Here are 5 simple gemstone elixirs to use for have the best weekend ever!

  • Radiate Confidence!

If you want to radiate confidence this weekend on a date or while getting together with new people, Carnelian is your go to stone!  It’s a bight but deep orangey red color that helps to strengthen the 2nd chakra, the sacral chakra.  By being strongly rooted in your sense of self and security with the help of carnelian, you’ll be able to deal with any adventure you get yourself into.

  • Radiate Love + Beauty!

Rose Quartz is the stone to turn to when you want to ramp up your aura and energy with love and beauty.  This stone also opens up your 4th chakra, the heart charka, and helps you to not only radiate love but receive it as well.  When it comes to beauty, rose quartz helps to give you a glow and a sense of allure.  It is Valentine’s Day weekend, so if you happen to have a date this Saturday night, drink up so rose quartz elixir before you head out the door!

  • Chillax!

Did you have a rough week or are you dealing with a lot of stress in general right now?  Give yourself some time this weekend to relax and let go of what’s been giving your tension or anxiety.  Smokey Quartz is awesome at helping you to transmute negative energy, ground, and let go anything that is throwing your energy for a loop. From a mood perspective smokey quartz helps cranky people become less cranky, so if you’re dealing with PMS this is a great stabilizing stone!

  • Alleviate Loneliness

In the same vein at the rose quartz to help boost your Valentine’s Day weekend, if you’re along this Valentine’s Day and you’re feeling a little lonely in the process, a gemstone elixir with Jade will help.  Jade is a stone for protection and longevity.  It will help to soothe and protect your heart against loneliness {it is connected to the 4th chakra, the heart center}. Jade also helps to sharpen your mind and your perceptive abilities so when you’re feeling down you can put things in a big clearer perspective.

  • Get Over the Hangover

If you have too much of a good time over the weekend and Sunday afternoon rolls around and you’re feeling a bit fuzzy there is a crystal combination that can help you out.  This is one I’ve used for years, and while I can attest to this three stone combination working great, you can also try just one of these stones on their own if that’s all you have access to.  Use a combination of Amethyst, Clear Quartz, and Peridot.  Amethyst gets it’s name from the Greek work amethusos, meaning not drunk, and was said to be used in the drinking goblets of the Greeks to prevent addiction and drunkenness.  Clear Quartz is a cleansing stone and Peridot is a stone for grounding and renewal.

Love this, but want to add that smoky is often irradiated to bring out darker shades, so just to be extra safe I don’t use it in elixirs…generally the darker the shade the more likely it is to be irradiated.

Good catch, Laura! That’s one I forget about because I always look for natural pieces which I know isn’t always a concern for everyone. Pretty much if it’s almost black {or flat out black} it’s been treated. Light champagne is the way to go.

Couldn’t you use the smoky quartz in an elixir if you prepared it in the alternative method though? Putting it into a glass container and then setting that container into the water?

It depends on the type of Jade, but I always say it’s better to stay safe than sorry and avoid it if you aren’t sure and substitute for something else.

I surround my glass of water with the special stones I feel I need and leave it overnight. The stones don’t actually go in the water, they just rest against the glass all night. I also charge my avocados with a crystal in their bowl to make their healthy qualities stronger. This is a lovely website!
